Now that physical paste-ups are a thing of the past, with digital publishing systems virtual layouts are created on the computer.  In many ways our lives have been made easier with the advent of Quark Express, Photoshop, InDesign and other design programs, but the expertise still lies with the prepress department, and the skills of the operator.
